Providence Friars Women's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule
The Providence Friars women's basketball team is set to host defending national champions UConn on New Year's Eve 2025 at Amica Mutual Pavilion. This matchup is a highlight of their recently released Big East schedule. Last season, Providence faced UConn downtown, suffering a 77-40 defeat, marking the Huskies' 38th consecutive win in their matchup history.
Providence will also play nine other conference games at Alumni Hall, beginning with a contest against Georgetown on December 21. The Friars aim to improve upon last season's 13-19 record and have added four transfers, including three who will play immediately. Coach Erin Batth, now in her third season, has welcomed new assistants to strengthen her coaching staff.
The Friars will kick off their conference play with road games against Xavier and St. John's, and will aim for a better performance in the league, which has expanded to 20 games this year. The season begins with an exhibition on October 29 against Franklin Pierce.
